William Salt

What is your average day like:
Balancing work and family life is at the heart of everything I do. My early mornings are spent looking after my two rough collies (Lassie dogs) and getting my children ready for school — my son has autism and ADHD, so I understand first-hand the importance of patience, planning, and flexibility. Once the school run is done, I turn my focus to helping clients achieve their financial goals. I spend my mornings planning, meeting with clients, and sometimes getting out to network and meet new people — one of the most enjoyable parts of my work. My afternoons often include the school pick-up, which I genuinely enjoy — it gives me valuable one-to-one time with my son, and if the weather’s kind, a quick walk on the loacal moors. In the evenings, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, or heading out for a run with the Dronfield Running Club. I’m also a keen Tai Chi practitioner and enjoy weight training. I believe in having a truly flexible working day — sometimes that means meeting clients in the evening to fit around their busy schedules. Being adaptable allows me to support both my family and my clients in the best possible way.
What do you like most about your job?
I find financial advice incredibly rewarding because it’s not just about numbers; it’s about understanding people’s goals, educating them, and helping them build a stronger financial future
How long have you worked in Financial Services
I have worked in the financial services for the past 18 months, following over a decade of running my own successful personal training business. During that time, I managed my own facility and helped clients achieve their personal fitness goals. Many of the skills I developed — such as building trust, understanding individual needs, and creating tailored plans — have proven highly transferable to my work as a financial adviser, where I now help people achieve their financial goals with the same level of dedication and personal attention.
