Alex Kirby is a Chartered Financial Planner and co-founder of Kirby & Knott Financial Planning, bringing over 20 years’ experience in financial services. He works with individuals and business owners to create personalised financial plans that help them make informed decisions and achieve their long-term goals. Alex began his career in 2005 and has held a variety of roles across large financial services organisations, including Zurich and Santander. In 2018, he joined forces with Richard to establish Kirby & Knott Financial Planning, with a shared ambition to provide personal, straightforward advice built around each client’s individual circumstances and aspirations. Alex believes that good financial planning starts with understanding what matters most to each person. Alongside his client work, Alex plays an active role in running and developing the business with his fellow director, Richard, and supporting the wider team. Alex is a Chartered Financial Planner, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a member of the Personal Finance Society. Outside of financial planning, Alex has a sporting background that may surprise some clients: as a teenager, he represented Great Britain in water polo and spent much of his time training in the pool. These days, he enjoys swimming at a more relaxed pace.
